WeChat For PC A Useful Alternative to Instant Messaging

I am sure that you all heard about WeChat and Whatsapp. Both of them are great, and both of them are eligible to be installed and used on a desktop computer. The good thing is that here, I want to show you how you can install WeChat on PC, the easy way, even if Whatsapp on PC can be achieved in the same manner.
Two of the world’s most popular messaging apps are pretty much the same. They deliver the same main purpose while their features are quite similar. Yes, I am talking about Whatsapp and WeChat. Even the names are lookalike. Whatsapp, recently purchased by Facebook, Whatsapp if offering a messaging service free of ads, games and gimmicks.

On the other hand, WeChat is slightly different. Whatsapp’s China-based competitor, WeChat, delivers multiple services in one: a platform for chatting, shopping, gaming, and even banking. As you can see, you have all of these services in a single application, which can even be used on a computer now.

WeChat’s popularity might also reflect the geography aspect as well. WeChat, with its 300 million registered users is more popular in the south Asian part and South Africa. On the other hand, Whatsapp, with 450 million users, is strong in the western markets such as US, Europe, and a little bit of India, Brazil, and Mexico. However, in both cases, their numbers increase each day, and new members registered to each service.

Returning to the possibility to install WeChat on a PC, let me just tell you a couple of things on how you can do this thing in a matter of minutes. Actually, what it will take you more time is downloading the required emulator. As you may imagine, in order to make a mobile-designed application work on a desktop computer, you need to install and use an Android emulator.

The emulator’s job is to make your computer think it is an Android device. I know that it might sound complicated, but, in fact, it is not. All you have to do is to download the respective emulator, and then, wait for it to install. This is the first step, which might take you the most out of your time.

In what concerns the emulator’s choice, you have two alternatives available. First one, Bluestacks is quite famous among users, especially since it provides a clean and simple experience, which is, above all things, completely free of charge. With Bluestacks, you will get a simple program that makes your computer act as an Android device. This will later allow you to install pretty much all Android apps and games on a personal computer.

The second choice you have is called YouWave. This Android emulator is not that different compared to the first version. In fact, both of them offer the same important feature, that of installing mobile apps on Windows-based computers. However, there are a couple of things I would like to mention regarding YouWave.

First of all, in order to download this software, you will need to pay. The software is a paid application, but this should differentiate from other similar ones. YouWave is lighter, simpler and requires fewer resources compared to other Android emulators. It is the best choice you can make when you know your computer is not that reliable.

Next, with the emulator installed on your Windows-based computer, launch the software and wait until you see its home page. Here, you can sync your Google account with the emulator’s account in order to have access to all those apps you installed on your Android tablet or Smartphone.

Under “my apps” you can find all those apps you installed during time on your mobile device. Under this section, you can choose WeChat. This will install WeChat on PC with only a couple of clicks.

Once installed, WeChat on PC will act in the same way as it does on a mobile device. You will get the same great features and options while you will enjoy a big screen and a big keyboard. However, before being able to chat with your friends, you will have to register. If you already have a username and password, you may use them. If you do not, you can easily start a new account.
